Privacy Policy

The short version: your files, drives and reports stay on your machine. What leaves it is licensing information, and only what is needed to keep your licence valid. The detail is below.

Effective date: 21 September 2026  ·  Last updated: 21 September 2026

1. Who is responsible for your data

Pulsar Dynamics is a software engineering company based in the United Arab Emirates, previously trading as 71 Labs. Pulsar Dynamics is the controller of the personal data described in this policy, and remains the controller of data collected under the former name. You can contact us at info@71labs.com.

2. What stays on your machine

This is the part most people want to know, so it comes first. The following never leaves your computer and is never transmitted to us:

  • the contents of any drive, disk image or file you recover, scan, repair or encode;
  • recovered files and the folders you save them to;
  • diagnostic reports produced by Pulsar PC Repair, including event log extracts;
  • scan results, quarantined files and their contents;
  • your media files and encoded output;
  • the history of what you have scanned, repaired or recovered.

These are processed locally and stored locally, under your control. We have no facility to retrieve them and no interest in doing so.

3. What the software does send

Licence activation and validation

The Software requires an internet connection to activate and, for Pulsar Recovery, to verify its licence at least once every 30 days. For this purpose it sends:

  • a short-lived activation request approved through your Pulsar account;
  • a hash of a randomly generated installation identifier and your computer name, used to bind the licence to your Recovery installation and enforce the permitted device allowance;
  • the product name and version;
  • the IP address the request comes from, which our servers necessarily receive.

This is the only routine transmission the Software makes. It does not include file names, file contents, drive contents, scan results or diagnostic data.

Updates

Automatic update delivery is not enabled in the current Recovery test build. Updates are provided separately.

Crash and error reports

The current Recovery test build does not automatically upload crash reports. Diagnostic files remain on your computer unless you explicitly share them with support.

4. This website and Account Center

Account Center stores your account email, profile, authentication and session records, subscription status and registered Recovery installations. It uses essential secure cookies for sign-in and request protection. Stripe processes payment details; Pulsar stores billing references and subscription status, not your full card number. The 71labs.com test deployment uses Stripe sandbox payments only, when configured.

This site is a static website. It sets no advertising cookies, runs no third-party analytics or tracking scripts, and does not build a profile of you. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, which typically include IP address, request time, page requested, referrer and browser user agent, and which are used for security and to keep the site running.

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we keep that correspondence so we can answer you and follow up.

5. Why we process this data and on what basis

  • To deliver the Software you licensed: activation and validation are necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To prevent licence abuse: our legitimate interest in protecting our software from unauthorised copying.
  • To keep the Software working and secure: update checks and, where you send them, crash reports.
  • To answer you: when you contact us, or ask to be told about a release.

We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal effects.

6. Who we share data with

We share the limited data described above only with service providers who help us operate, and only to the extent they need it: our website host, our licensing and update infrastructure provider, and our email provider. They act on our instructions and are bound to protect the data.

We may also disclose data where we are legally required to, or where necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

7. International transfers

We are based in the United Arab Emirates, and our service providers may process data in other countries. Where data is transferred internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected by appropriate safeguards.

8. How long we keep it

  • Licence and activation records: for as long as the licence is active, and afterwards for as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal purposes.
  • Server logs: a short retention period consistent with security monitoring.
  • Crash reports: until the underlying issue is resolved.
  • Correspondence: for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and keep a record of it.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we process it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these, email info@71labs.com. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Note that we cannot give you access to files we never received. Requests about the contents of your drives, scans or reports cannot be fulfilled by us, because that data has never left your machine.

10. Security

Licence data is transmitted over encrypted connections. Software builds are signed so you can verify that what you install is what we published. Access to our systems is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these obligations seriously.

11. Children

The Services are not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Software develops, particularly as it moves from development to general release. We will revise the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, give notice through the Site or within the Software.

13. Contact

Questions about this policy, or about how we handle your data, can be sent to info@71labs.com, or by post to 71 Labs, United Arab Emirates.
